FC Springfield Legends Soccer Club History
In 2005, SpringHigh Select Soccer Club was founded to provide training, league play and competitive tournamnet experience for boys during the high school soccer off-season. SpringHigh teams have covered U16 through U19 age groups and have been coached by Alf Bilbao and Ryan Swan. FC Springfield was founded in 2008  to offer a "player-first" approach to club soccer along with a focus on reducing the costs of competitive training for players in the youth devlopment ages. Directed by Cliff and Clint Nurnberg, FCS provides each team with designated coaches that offer a background in competitive play and a commitment to coaching excellence. In June of 2009 the two clubs merged to form FC Springfield - SpringHigh Select. The club currently runs 11 active teams from U5 through U18 in age, including squads for girls in the U12 through U18 ranks. Starting June of 2010, the club will undergo one last merger with Kansas City based Legends Soccer Club. The Springfield program will play under the name of FC Springfield Legends.

Founded in 1989, the Legends Soccer Clubs have expanded in and around the Kansas City area and throughout the United States. The initial club, Kansas City, has regularly contended for championships in regional and national soccer tournaments in all older age groups.

The hallmark of all Legends teams is superb individual skills notably deceptive dribbling and goal scoring. Development of the individual player is emphasized over team success. However, winning is a natural consequence of maximizing each individual player's potential. Players are given equal playing time in league games and are encouraged to pursue their highest individual goals.
