Tryout Dates:
Thursday, November 17th – 6:30 to 9:00 PM @ JFK Stadium 1333 S. Grant Ave. Springfield
Tuesday, November 22nd – 6:30 to 9:00 PM @ JFK Stadium, 1333 S. Grant Ave. Springfield
If your High School team is still participating in post-season play beyond these tryout dates, you will not be eligible to participate in the scheduled tryouts. Please contact Cliff Nurnberg at 417.818.8634 to make other arrangements.
In the spring of 2011, Southwest United and SpringHigh Select fielded 2 very successful High School Boy teams. We expect to have 3 competitive teams in the U19-18, U17-16, and U15 age ranges for the 2012 soccer season.
The season plans for the spring include Competitive Tournament and League Play, 2 to 3 College Showcase Tournaments, and President’s Cup or State Cup participation.

Drew Fizgerald – Program Director U19-18 Coach
NSCAA National Diploma, Goalkeeper I & II diploma, USSF National "D" License
Drew is currently the Assistant Coach for Missouri Sate University’s women’s program.
Prior to this assignment he spent four seasons as a women's soccer assistant coach at McNeese State helping the Cowgirls achieve a Conference Championship and NCAA Tournament appearances during his tenure.
Joe Murphy – U17-16 Coach
USSF National “D” License
Joe played Club Soccer with Lou Fusz Soccer Club and High School Soccer with Bishop DuBourg in St Louis. He currently heads the Southwest United Girls program and has coached with Springfield youth soccer teams for 6 years with Total Soccer and Springfield Legends. Joe attends Missouri State University and is in the process of obtaining his MBA.
Jake Gain – U15 Coach
NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma
Jake played for Drury University receiving conference recognitions during his career with the Panthers. He played club soccer with Scott Gallagher Soccer Club in St. Louis, Missouri. Jake has been actively coaching youth soccer for Nixa Soccer Club and Southwest United since 2009 providing strong player development and winning teams.
