At this age, we play a lot of games that serve as "drills". These games promote skill building while keeping the training fun and feeling like play, rather than practice. U8 players can learn very basic tactical points of the game, but they will typically do well to remember they have a teammate on the field--let alone two or three others. We do a lot of technique instruction, 1v 1, and 2v1 play to promote age appropriate devlopment.
Our U8 girls play league games at Lake Country Soccer and do not participate in tournament play.
